Mooncake (Dec. 2015)

Not to be confused with moon pie.

My eldest step-nephew's birthday was this past December. As is my custom, I baked the birthday cake. This is actually the first time I make him his cake, though, as in the past, they've always opted to buy it for him. I always have the kiddos pick out the theme, color, flavor, filling, etc. This is what Omar chose: a MLP-FiM Tres Leches cake with cream cheese buttercream and strawberry filling, featuring his favorite pony, Princess Luna. The moon and pony silhouette is cream cheese fondant.

There are many things wrong with this cake, but I'll make an Art Rant for it later. Suffice to know, it gave me a ton of trouble, but the flavor was spot on, and all was eaten promptly.
